It’s time to cut ties, burn bridges and break free the chains that bind you. Do you have a mindset for success?
No more excuses. No more self pity. No more self doubt.
Today is your day. Today nothing can hold you back. Why, because today you won’t allow it.
Do you know what the single most valuable characteristic in every self made millionaire is? Determination.
Highly successful people don’t find people to blame when they fail. They don’t revel in self pity, and they do not doubt their abilities.
The only thing that separates you from these people is your mindset.
Do you ever doubt yourself and your abilities? Do you feel like you don’t have the intelligence or skill necessary to be successful? You Do. It all starts with a mindset for success. And that starts here.
The average IQ of a millionaire is average. That’s right, There is no prerequisite for brainpower to become successful. However, there is a skill more valuable than a supernatural ability to comprehend information, and it can only come from you. It can not be given to you, and once you have it, it can not be taken from you.
You have the power to change your circumstances, and to do that, all you have to do is change your mind. If you are a woman this should come natural. If you are a man, pay attention to a woman. (kidding)
Dying To Live
When I was 19 years old, I was in an accident that splashed acid into my eyes. I was blind for three months. The treatment that I was given to return my eyesight, led to heart complication that caused me to have 7 minor heart attacks in one year.
I dropped down to 130 lbs. and barely had the energy to walk up stairs. Finally, I had to choose between dropping the medicine and possibly going blind, or continuing the medicine and possibly dying. (it’s a harder decision than you think)
I decided to stop the meds and take the risk. As soon as I began to feel better I started exercising. Then weight lifting, and then power lifting.
By the time I was 22, I had won several first, second and third place victories in bodybuilding and qualified pro as a powerlifter. The same guy with the heart complications, who was 130 lbs less than two years earlier. In case you were wondering, I still have my eyesight over 10 years later.
If you tell your mind it can do these things, it will act accordingly
I learned early on what it takes to be successful. I found that place where determination becomes motivating, and the impossible becomes possible. And I found the answer in myself. I was the only person capable of deciding whether I would fall on my face, or stand proud on that stage.
It is no different for you. Are you letting the negativity of people around you affect your better judgment about your abilities. Or maybe you are the negative one and fail to believe in yourself, even with the support of family and friends.
The only thing between you, and the completion of your dreams, is Your belief in yourself. I don’t even have to know you to believe in you. I believe in people. People have changed the world over many times, without anything going for them, but a mindset for success.
Whatever your goal is, I believe in you.
- Do you have a dream to own your own business?
- Want to compete in a triathlon?
- Have never been able to lose that extra weight?
- Need to put the spark back into a failing marriage?
I have no doubt in my mind that you can do all of these things and much more. But that doesn’t mean anything, if you don’t believe in yourself, and stop treating these things like a lost cause.
Take a step back from your life today. Look at everything you have to offer, and believe that you can make your dreams happen. They will.

Hey Chris,
Awesome post! You nailed it, everything starts with determination. If you don’t feel it, you won’t see it! Everything that we want to accomplish starts with a mindset. You covered it well. This is a post that people need to print out and paste it on the wall or read it before you go to bed.
Yes, I do paste stuff on my wall to read.
Have a great weekend…
Josh
Hey Josh,
Thanks for dropping in. Hey my wife likes to tape things to the bathroom mirror. Sometimes I have to take things down to see myself. Though I will say her inspirations are more motivating than my mug in the morning.
Mindset – Determination – Motivation
An unstoppable force once on positive motion.
Amazing post Chris. Congrats on betting the odds and becoming who you have become.
Inspirational stuff.
Dwayne
Hey Dwayne,
If everyone realized how powerful they could be if they just believed in themselves, The competition in this industry would be unbelievable.
So what does that say for the few who actually are that way now?
It’s kinda like that Alpha Networker blog you posted the other day.
Hey Chris,
There is no tomorrow, all we have is today. I definitely agree with you. You must harness it and you can see your true potential rise above.
Jerome Ratliff
Hey Jerome,
Just scream it, “CARPE DIEM”
You know you want to.
Truly inspiring!
Thanks for sharing your story, Chris.
Something I’ve overcome? Hmmm…I used to totally lack confidence in myself. I got picked on, bullied, etc.
But I’ve done a lot of personal development and am very happy with where my mindset is today.
Have a great weekend,
Derek
Hey Derek,
Thanks for sharing. That was deep to fit in a comment box.
Doesn’t it just feel great to be happy with where your mind, heart and “artistic” soul are now.
I know, your a painter, I’m a color blind musician… It’s all art guys. LOL

Talk at you later,
Eric
Hey Eric,
Determination builds momentum faster than a good hill. LOL

Hey Brian,
Great to hear from you man. You still in camel land? Or did you finally get enough of that desert? I hope everything is well with you and the family, and if you’re back in the states we need to get together soon.
Great to hear from you Brian.
Hey Sweetness,
Determination is vital for success! With a laser focus and a burning spirit, mountains will be moved!
Belief is also vital! Everyone needs someone speaking belief into them. With so many dream “busters” out there…we all need a dream “weaver” in our life.
Great post!
Love you,
Tragena
Hey Tragena,
I like that “Dream Weaver” comment. That is exactly what I am going for in the book. I want people to see, that I do believe they can reach their goals and make their dreams come true.
I just believe in people. Everyone has the tools to change their circumstances right inside their own mind.
Love you
Hello Chris,
I have been reading your articles for quite some time. You are one of the most creative and inspiring authors I have found. The trials you have faced in your life are enough to make anyone lose faith, but instead you became an inspiration to all who get to know you.
Our church has over 3600 members per service, and the staff has voted to hire you to come speak at a seminar in June. I sent the email, and we all truly hope that you are available for this date.
Thank you for you inspiring words
Bill
Hey Bill,
Trials are just proof that we have something to live for. I share my stories, because I believe that anyone who has had to go through so much, has to have a purpose. Through our own experiences, we have the unique ability to help someone else with theirs.
Thanks for coming by, and you’ll hear from me soon.
Hey Chris,
This post has been getting a good buzz for a reason! This is inspiration at its finest. I had no idea of these challenges you have faced.
It makes any little problem I may have had seem like an “Ant” next to an “Elephant”. The way you have come back from 2 potential life changing experiences and come out on top is truly amazing!
I can see that people are really taking notice of you and your blog and I am glad I am here to witness the rise!
Great Post brother.
Wayne Vassell, singing out.
Hey Wayne,
Thanks for coming by. I wouldn’t say an “ant next to an elephant”. I believe all peoples problems are relevant. Meaning, The worst thing you deal with is still the worst thing you deal with, whether someone else has dealt with more or not.
I believe that limits are a state of mind. Once we learn that, we are open to realize that pain is just weakness, leaving our body.
If I know you, your biggest problem is the joint pain from typing out 5 articles and a blog every day.
Hey Chris,
Awesome post! Laser sharp focus – Unstoppable will – No excuses,
Seems to be a common theme with anyone who is massively successful in anything.
Thanks for renewing my inspiration bro,
Matthew Pedler
Hey Matthew,
Thanks for coming by. I love hearing someone say they have renewed inspiration. So glad I could help it along.
I have been by your website. If you need more inspiration, just read over your old work. You have some great content.
Hey Chris,
Very inspiring story!! You’re the second person today to remind me to get rid of that annoying self-doubt. (I guess I should listen, huh?)
I’ll definitely print this one out. Thanks for sharing it!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Ilka
P.S. By the way, I came here by way of Josh Garcia’s post for today on ‘copywriting’. He put in a plug for you at the end
Such a nice guy!
Hey Ilka,
Thanks for coming by. Yes please listen. Put your self doubt under you feet and walk off. The best way to overcome self doubt is to do those things you doubt you can anyway. After stepping out of your comfort zone a few times your confidence will begin to rise to great new heights.
Josh is a great guy, and a great friend. I am thankful to know him.
Thank you, Chris, great advice! I promise, I’ll listen.
And yes, you’re absolutely correct about Josh. Great guy!
