Article Marketing Strategy

How to use Article Marketing Strategy for growing your business.

There are many methods and strategies used in article marketing. This lesson is meant to be an overview of several techniques.

Many of you, new to this industry, may have missed the point of why article marketing is important. You may have realized that you need to do it, but don’t know exactly what your primary goal with article marketing is.

Well, there are several goals, and several techniques to reach them. So let’s start with the obvious.

Establishing your personal brand.

Personal branding is what sets the guru’s apart from the 99% of marketers that never reach their full potential.

Example:

Name one guru that you can’t name.

I rest my case.

Now I know what you may be thinking right now. You may not have the knowledge to write an article to establish authority in your niche.

That’s fine. All you really need to do is make a connection with your prospects. Authority comes with time, and a great deal of work on your education. You can’t teach what you’ve never learned yourself. So if you don’t have a specialty yet, then your best bet is to just be you.

Write your articles from your own perspective. You see, you are unique, in that no one else on earth has had your experiences. What you are wanting to accomplish, is to make your unique experiences interesting to those that may be reading. And in those cases that the reader has had your experience, then all the better. You have just made a personal connection that they can relate to.

Article Marketing Strategies are just focal points for you to keep in mind while you write. At least at this level. We’ll get more into strategy later on.

What you need to remember is that it is not about quantity. It is about quality. If you spend a couple of days working on your first article, that is okay. The day will come when you can write several in one sitting.

I never considered myself a writer ten years ago. Now I write for several different personal sites, and put out hundreds of articles for SEO clients. I never put out material that I don’t put effort into making interesting.

Remember the 3 E’s

The three E’s of writing articles, blogs and whatever copy you are working on are as follows.

  1. Entertaining
  2. Educational
  3. Enlightening

If you can put effort into each of the 3 E’s in your writing, then you are ahead of the game. No article ever went viral without have one or more of the three E’s.

Write from your perspective, give the details, and use your past or present experience.

Once the course on copywriting is released, I suggest taking it. You will learn how to write engaging headlines, and how to write copy that keeps your readers interested all the way through.

I know it doesn’t happen often, but have you ever clicked on a capture page for some type of business, and found yourself unwilling to skip over the content of a 3 foot long sales letter.

That is because it was written by a master copywriter. Someone who has mastered the art of engaging their audience with the 3 E’s.

Article Marketing Strategy for SEO

Here is a controversial subject for many Internet marketers.

SEO is one of the most technical and scientific tools in the Internet marketing world. Very few people actually understand SEO techniques. But most online marketers do know that SEO is the science behind getting front page listings on the search engines.

Enter the controversy.

As I said, most people do not understand the full science of SEO. But what they do understand is backlinks. It is the most easily understandable mistake most marketers make.

Why do I call it an understandible mistake?

Because SEO is much, much more than back links. But back links are the part that people seem to get the fastest. So the Internet marketers one tract mind sets in, and they go out on a mission to get 1,000 or even 10,000 back links. Getting this many back links will get you some attention in the search engines, but it doesn’t have to be that single minded.

I have a site online right now with a number 2 ranking out 1.7 million that has 29 backlinks. That’s right, 29. The reasons that it ranks so highly are the levels of optimization done to the site, and the quality of links coming into the site.

In the SEO certification program you will learn how to properly optimize your site, and how to design your site around a silo blueprint. This can get complicated, but all of the details are on video, and it is put together in an almost pop-up book format so that there are no unanswered questions.

What you need to know right now, is that trying to put out 1,000 low quality articles for back links, may get you some SEO juice for your site, but at the same time ruins your personal brand to all those who run across your articles.

You can make a bad name for yourself fast with the article marathon route if you are not careful.

Learn proper SEO technique, and you will not have to slam the Internet with garbage article spinning. You can build on all area’s of your business at once.

That’s the great part about this industry. If you learn to do things the right way, they will all work together to build your business, your brand and your knowledge in one smooth motion.

To properly write an article for SEO purposes, you need to have your keyword research done. Which, if you have done things correctly, you learned as you were drawing up your silo blueprint for your site.

Using a blog on your site, that has good copywriting, you can draw a crowd and achieve syndication. The back links from your blog to the deep content of your site, (pages with relevant keywords) will have a lot of power once your content is syndicated. Every site that displays your RSS feed will give a back link to your deep content.

Now you can go through the steps of syndicating your blog manually, but nothing you can do is more powerful than when a post goes viral. That means that people are spreading the word of your content for you. I go into much more detail on this in the Social Media Course and in the SEO Course.

The last Strategy that I want to go over for Article Marketing has more of a personal nature for you.

The process of writing articles, makes you better at writing articles.

As they say, practise makes perfect.

When I was in the sixth grade, I think I can safely say I was the only farm boy in my county that couldn’t get my horse to do anything I wanted. It was pathetic. The horse new I was scared of it. When he resisted, I backed down.

But instead of giving up, or just selling the horse, I got hold of a few books, and asked every experienced person I could find for advice. I do think that the best advice I ever got was from my dad. He said, ” The only thing that horse needs, is a more experienced rider.”

Over the years I had turned from being scared of my horse, and not being able to get it to do anything, to turning that same horse into a reining competition winner. By the time I graduated high school, I was the guy that people brought that horse they couldn’t do anything with.

The point is, the things that you are the worst at, are simply the area’s that you can achieve the greatest victories. If you are lousy at writing copy today, you still may be an authority on the subject in a few years.

So practise, practise, practise. In time you will only remember those days when you couldn’t write, when you’re telling about them in a story.
